GUR + Tupera Tupera III

€220.00

GUR Flocking with tupera tupera project was born from the desire to unite traditional Portuguese weaving and contemporary
Japanese illustration, promoting an artistic exchange between Portugal and Japan.
This collaboration, curated by Célia Esteves and Yoko, seeks to create a space for dialogue between cultures, preserving and reinventing techniques.

The exhibition is inspired by the flight of migratory birds, which depend on cooperation to strengthen themselves and maintain their ancestral routes. The duo tupera tupera, Tatsuya Kameyama and Atsuko Nakagawa draw on this ornithological imagery to create their illustrations and rugs.

tupera tupera :
A creator duo of Tatsuya Kameyama and Atsuko Nakagawa.
They work in a wide variety of artistic fields, including picture books and illustrations, as well as art direction for TV programs, theatrical stage, and spatial designs.
They are also in charge of the art direction for NHK E-television's craft program.
Won the Grand Prize of the 23rd Japan Picture Book Award for “Wakusei Kyabeji dobutsu zukan [The Planet Cabbage Animal Book]” (Alice-kan) and the Grand Prize of the 1st Yanase Takashi Culture Award in 2019.
