This collection is a collaboration between GUR and Fabrica Features curated by Sam Baron.
Fabrica draws three dimensional stories in handwoven rugs, taking a step forward into bold shapes and naive sketches. Each rug represents what goes through the minds of this team of young international designers, taking inspiration from their cultural background and mirroring their diverse creative skills: from product to interactive design, from graphic design to illustration.

GUR Editions

MAL is a special edition of GUR dedicated to the Russian suprematist artist Kazimir Malevich. From the mid-1910s, Malevich removed any trace of figurative or representation from his paintings in favour of pure abstraction. Depicting pure geometrical figures in primary colours, these "new icons for the aesthetics of modern art" are now available in a set of four GUR: Black Cross, Black Circle, Black Square and Red Square. This fine selection of work is curated by José Cardoso.

Material: 100% Cotton
Dimensions: 39" by 39" (100cm x 100cm)

This GUR special edition is dedicated to the modernist designer Sebastião Rodrigues. Rodrigues work had a great impact in the Portuguese design since the 40's, having a great balance between innovation and multiplicity. Since he was a big reference to us, we've decided to pay him some tribute and invited our good friend and great designer Márcia Novais to join us.

Material: 100% Cotton
Dimensions: 47" by 27,5" (120cm x 70cm)

McCracken was an American painter and sculptor, he was oriented towards light and colour in a minimalist way, and his greatest concern was about visual experience as a spiritual and cognitive process. McCracken insisted that his art continued to deal with the basic correlation between beauty and spirituality. Presented as perfectly finished objects, his characteristic works are monochromatic with extremely polished surfaces that seem at the same time to deny their own objecthood, almost becoming abstract visual ideas. GUR had this experience when in contact to McCracken works, translating their simplicity to this special edition of rugs.

Material: 100% Cotton
Dimensions: 39" by 51" (100cm x 130cm)
